reach your most
ambitious SUMMITS

My approach to coaching stems from the belief that the relationship we have with ourselves reverberates across every other part of our lives. To build your dream life, therefore, requires conscientious cultivation of healthy, enabling self-partnership.

My practice combines Alderian and Applied Positive Psychology with a focus on human flourishing. Some of the primary pain points I address are: negative self talk, limiting beliefs, burn out, lack of self trust, purposelessness, unhealthy communication patterns, uncertainty about next steps, and failure to take consistent action to achieve goals.

Prior to coaching, I spent 8+ years as a 3x founder in B2B climate fintech, consulting, and fiscal literacy, 14+ years as a workshop facilitator & educator, and 5 years as an international speaker. Since starting Mountain Tops Consulting, I have coached 18 professionals and facilitated 200+ hours of executive masterminds, 60 development workshops, and 5 retreats. I currently lead programming at the Entrepreneur House of San Diego, the mission of which is to maximize founders’ personal and professional growth.

My life's work is to help people improve their self-partnerships so that they can achieve their most ambitious personal and professional summits. Let's figure out what that looks like for you.

HOW COACHING differs from THERAPY

Many of my clients have gone to therapy or even see a therapist concurrently with our work. While both coaching and therapy offer valuable support, they serve distinct purposes.

Therapy tends to focus on exploring past experiences, diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, and understanding the root causes of emotional pain.

Coaching, by contrast, is forward-focused. The emphasis of coaching is on Action, Accountability, and the Achievement of Goals. Coaches, therefore, are more concerned with performance and progress than pathology.

In short, therapy asks "What happened, and how do we heal it?"
Coaching asks "Where do you want to be and how do we get there?"

THE MOUNTAIN TOPS TOOL KIT

Some of the exercises and resources I utilize in my coaching practice:

Wheel of Life

Define the key sources of purpose in your life, assess your performance in their cultivation, and identify the highest leverage ways to invest in their flourishing.

Building Blocks of Truth

Get incredibly honest about who you are: your interests, skills, strengths, weaknesses, and personality. Then use these truths to recognize incompatibilities in your life and design a more aligned path forward.

Superpowers

Survey peers, colleagues, friends, family, and self to ascertain your specific superpowers. Incorporate into Building Blocks of Truth to design ideal roles & responsibilities that maximally leverage these gifts.

Core Goals

Establish clear goals based on your Wheel of Life and Building Blocks of Truth. The achievement of these goals will be the focus of our work.

The Motherboard

Roadmap the achievement of your core goals with a customized dashboard that establishes quarterly & monthly intentions, tracks progress, visually maintains accountability, and notes behavioral patterns.

Owning Your Narrative

Summarize your life story 3 times with all the same facts but 3 entirely different narratives. Observe the role of framing in how you feel about yourself and how you relate to your experiences. Reflect on your role as the narrator of your own life and decide what the story is about.

Inventorying Beliefs

Take an ongoing inventory of the beliefs you hold and the internal dialogues you have, assessing them for their worthwhileness in achieving goals. Beliefs that do not serve are conscientiously corrected through behavioral change and mindfulness exercises.

Attention with Intention

Train your mind to intentionally shift focus by logging very specific instances of X on a particular day. Examples: possibility, creativity, opportunity, joy, gratitude, etc. Practice intention towards that which give your attention.
